1. What doctorrating.in is
doctorrating.in is a free platform where patients can (a) find doctors whose registration we have cross-checked against public NMC/SMC registry records, (b) read and write structured reviews of observable service experience, and (c) use guided tools to verify a practitioner’s registration status and to prepare grievances for submission to the appropriate statutory authority. The platform is an intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000: reviews, ratings, and responses are third-party user content, not statements by the platform.
2. The service is free
No fees are charged to patients or doctors. Rankings and search order are determined solely by verified patient ratings and relevance — never by payment. Doctors cannot pay for placement, and patients cannot pay for visibility of content.
3. Rules for reviews (patients)
By submitting a review you confirm that:
- You personally received services from the doctor/clinic you are reviewing, on the date you state.
- Your ratings reflect your genuine experience of the seven service parameters (communication, wait time, diagnosis clarity, fee transparency, alternatives discussed, follow-up support, premises & hygiene). Reviews do not rate clinical outcomes or medical correctness.
- Your text is truthful, first-hand, and free of: unsupported allegations, other people’s personal information, abusive language, and content unrelated to the visit.
- You hold the rights to anything you upload, and grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and display your review.
Reviews pass automated screening and may be held for human moderation. A reviewed doctor has a 7-day window to attach a response before publication; a response never blocks or edits your review. We may remove reviews that violate these rules, a court order, or applicable law.
4. Rules for doctors
Doctors may verify their identity (free) to respond to reviews and report profile errors. Responses must be professional and must not disclose the patient’s identity or medical details. Attempting to procure fake reviews (positive or negative), or to harass or identify anonymous reviewers, results in the response facility being withdrawn and may be reported to the relevant council.
5. Profiles of doctors
Profiles are compiled from public statutory registry data and display only: name, registration number and council, qualifications as registered, registration status, and practice information. Listing is not endorsement. A doctor cannot demand removal of accurate public-registry information, but may correct errors via the report-an-error flow or the Grievance Officer.
6. The Verify and Complaints tools
- The Verify tool reports what we found, or did not find, in public registry records on the date of search. “Unable to verify” is not a statement that a person is unqualified — records lag, names vary, and AYUSH practitioners are registered with separate councils.
- The Complaints tool helps you prepare a grievance addressed to the authority with jurisdiction. You send it; we do not file complaints on your behalf, we do not publish complaint contents, and we make no representation about any authority’s process or outcome.
- Neither tool provides legal or medical advice.
7. Takedown and disputes
Anyone may notify the Grievance Officer (complaints@doctorrating.in) of content they believe is unlawful. We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within the timelines in the Intermediary Rules, and we comply with valid court orders and lawful government notices. Disputed reviews may be annotated pending resolution.
8. Liability
The platform hosts third-party content and public-registry data in good faith. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on reviews or registry data; healthcare decisions should always involve direct verification and professional consultation. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
9. Acceptable use, termination, governing law
You may not scrape the platform, post content on others’ behalf for consideration, or interfere with its operation. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. These terms are governed by Indian law; courts at Gurugram, Haryana have jurisdiction.
