Content Moderation & Takedown Policy

1. Screening before publication

Every review is checked by an automated screen for defamation risk, personal data, and abuse before it goes live. Anything flagged is held for human review. We may edit nothing in a review except to redact personal data; if a review cannot comply with our Community & Review Guidelines, we decline to publish it.

2. The doctor’s right to respond

A verified doctor may attach a professional response to any review about them, free of charge, within a 7-day window. Responding never blocks or edits the underlying review. Newly listed profiles have a 30-day grace period before reviews affect any ranking.

3. Reporting content

Anyone can report a review they believe is false, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise in breach. Contact theGrievance Officer atcomplaints@doctorrating.in. A doctor disputing a review should include the review URL, their NMC / SMC registration number, and the specific statements in dispute.

4. Our timelines

• We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours with a reference number.
• We resolve complaints within 15 days, as required by the Rules.
• We act on valid court orders and government notices within the applicable legal timelines.

5. What we may do

Depending on the case we may keep the content, redact personal data, add a doctor’s response, temporarily hide the content pending review, or remove it. We may suspend accounts that repeatedly break the guidelines or attempt to manipulate ratings.

6. Registry data and profiles

Doctor profiles are built from public NMC / State Medical Council registry data. Accurate registry information cannot be removed, but genuine errors will be corrected on request. Listing a doctor is not an endorsement.
